Default Annoying Engine idles

My car runs great and it never dies on me, but everytime im at a stop light or if i just put the car in nuetral, my engine's digital Tac bar goes a little under 1000 rpms. it goes down to about 900 - 700 rpms and the car shakes for a second like its going to stall but it never does. This flucuates alot and it doesnt stay on 1k rpm during idle. Im really worried about this and its really annoying. I cant sleep at night cause i think somehting is wrong with my car. I need to get it fixed soemhow where it stays 1k rpm at idling constantly. ANyone else notice happening to their S2K?

On i forgot to add, this Happens everytime when im in neutral and i rev the engine up, i see the bar go down and the car starts to shake and almost stall for a second. I tried resetting the ECU and ive tried wacking the Map sensor. Now im thinking about getting a new map sensor. I have 29500 miles on the car so far and due for 30k service soon.

Yeah mine does this too, including numerous other members here. There is a thread floating around about spraying carbuerator cleaner into the throttle body which should fix this. I've been too lazy to get around to doing it, as well as too lazy to search and post the link for you now I'm sure you can find it using search, if not in one of the FAQ.

Thought I'd be a nice guy and post the link for you, as I thought I should reread that thread and do this sometime soon. I found it in xviper's FAQ thread:

good luck!

the throttle body cleaning "fix" is usually NOT the problem. it's 95% of the time, simply the ECU having become "confused" due to recent environment changes.

this question has been asked a thousand times over. I'm willing to bet that if you just give it 2 days (do NOT give it gas when it does this.... let the ECU re-learn on its own) the "problem" will have gone away.

there is a technical explination for this, however a quick search of the forums would yield the answer.
