another cam chain tensioner Q:

as soon as i pulled the pin on the brand new tensioner, via the maintenance hole, it poped out and fell to the ground spewing springs and all that it contained.:egads: i put it back together and retracted it exactly the way the shop manual says to. i pulled the pin for the second time, via the maintenance hole, but this time i made sure the unit was bolted in. after the job was finally done i put every thing back as it was before. i still hear some noise though...almost sounds like a mini diesel engine. :banghead:

Yeah a car with a bad valve adjustment will definately have that 'diesel' sound. And if your car hasnt had one since 2000 then your definately due for one.

the motor only has about 1,000 miles on it since i got it back from laskey racing. the valves where set at his shop, but i guess i need to get them adjusted again. how difficult is it to adjust valves?
