another cam chain tensioner Q:
as soon as i pulled the pin on the brand new tensioner, via the maintenance hole, it poped out and fell to the ground spewing springs and all that it contained.
i put it back together and retracted it exactly the way the shop manual says to. i pulled the pin for the second time,via the maintenance hole, but this time i made sure the unit was bolted in. after the job was finally done i put every thing back as it was before. i still hear some noise though...almost sounds like a mini diesel engine.

Yeah a car with a bad valve adjustment will definately have that 'diesel' sound. And if your car hasnt had one since 2000 then your definately due for one.
