Default another Pressure Plate thread.

ok long story short i have a competition clutch 2100 series. had it for over a year but i hate how it engages and chatters so im going back to stock disc but want a slightly heavier pressure plate. well i guess that was the whole story.

anyone here know the clamping force for the stock pressure plate and any other aftermarket pressure plate?

i think the ACT was 2600 PSI but i am not sure.

Thanks.

Last I read, the ACT is twice the force of the OEM.

ACT also puts too much pressure on your crank thrust bearings and causes premature bearing wear. imo the ACT pressure plates are too strong.

i emailed a few vendors i am hoping they have some answers.

MrChoi, did this happen to you or did you read it on the board? are you turbo?

I've had my ACT PP in the car for 95k miles and I have no thrust play at all. AND it's the ACT plate from 2003, with very heavy clamp force.

I have read that a few turbo guys have had thrust bearing failure.

i read the thrust bearing failure here on the board. i did a search but i think its archived. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?act=S...post&p=14879730
that is the link to the post but it doesnt work. search for "act bearing" and it'll be the 7th one.

i am currently stock with bolt ons.

no email from vendors yet.
