Default Another vibration thread!

I've done hours of research on vibration and none of them fit my symptoms.

Symptoms are as follow.
1. Increases drastically as rpm increases.
2. Accompanied by a loud rattle coming from head of engine.
3. Occurs even stationary while reving engine.
4. Can be felt through the gas pedal. Clutch pedal is also affected between
shifts.
Engine mounts were checked and seem to be free of leakage.

I eliminated the possibilty of a CV joint issue since this happens even at a standstill.

It also sounds like its coming mainly from the engine and nothing else.

Other than the vibration, the engine runs great.

I know a diagnosis online is almost impossible. However, i hope this does not discourage responses. Thank you in advance for your contributions.

Engine mounts are ruled out defintely because of the following.
1. I popped the hood, pulled the throttle cable, i then place the other hand on the body of the car, engine revs and vibrates but body felt very little vibration.
2. While on highway going 65mph, i put it in 4th, turned on cruise control and hit the accel button to see if i can feel vibration anywhere else except the pedal. I could not feel much vibration.
3. I asked an assistance to rev engine to 3k rpm as i walk around the car to listen for the source. It is loudest UNDER the engine. I'm almost certain it is not near the tranny so "through out bearing" can also be ruled out (do they even move when tranny is in neutral??)

I'm suspecting it might just be the heatshields. I will take every piece of heat shield out tomorrow and see what happens. Feel free to come up with your own analysis. Thank you.

What kind of sound does it make? Does the sound follow the vibration? Just wanted to make sure that they are the same problem.

Is it possible it is the timing chain tensioner? Just an idea but if not at least it'll get you some movement in this post.

hehe, yeah, not too much going on in here.

I forgot to mention that i did have the tensioner replaced.

The sound can be best described as a buzzing bee or fly right next to your ear.

hey 2krev i just noticed you live about a couple of hours from me.

Is it possible you're overly sensitive to vibration and there's nothing wrong with the car?

Tranny mounts? How many miles on the car? How is the clutch affected between shifts?

car has 67000 miles. Clutch pedal feels a bit gritty as i push it down to change gears. The vibration of the pedals feels like youre holding an electric shaver, or like the vibration of your shifter.

I also did a compression test today. Results are 210 210 220 220.

I checked the tranny mounts and they seem ok. I also checked the engine mounts for leakage of fluid but the boot on the mounts are clean.

That pic took some planing...wow, if only you were at 6600rpm and had 6 bars of fuel then I don't think it could have been beaten, question though...how were to careful enough to hit the trip button and get the .6 in there too. wow.

back to topic - I'm useless and have no idea
