Default Any permanent fix for the auto window down problem yet?

Problem: Driver's side window's auto down function does not work or fails intermittently.

I just did a search and it seems no one has ever had this problem fixed for good? On my car, it's intermittent - actually I know how to make it work by doing a trick but it does not last long. Anyone has any updates?

I have the same problem,
I think it is a ground issue because if im sitting still it works fine, but taking an off ramp, for-get-about-it.

Ok, I've tried something that seems to be working consistently for a couple days now. Anyone else wants to try, here's what to do:

* Start by rolling the window down all the way.
* Roll it up an inch and see if auto down works, if not lower it a bit more and try, otherwise you cannot continue with this voodoo.
* Roll the window up 2 inches this time and use the auto down again to lower it all the way.
* Keep increasing an inch every time and hopefully auto down will keep working till you are able to bring the window down from fully closed using auto down.

If it works for anyone, let others know otherwise do this -> and try again

I had this problem with my MY2002 after owning it for about 90 days. Took it in to the dealer for repair in July, no more problems since then. They replaced the regulator assembly, switch and motor. (May be all part of the regulator FRU....)

Anyway, I know that others have had the dealer repair this multiple times and the problem came back, so we will see......

I'm waiting until the last month of my warranty, then I'll get it fixed. Unless I hear a permanent fix is available sooner.

If the dealership is willing to replace all related parts then it's worth going to them, otherwise it's a waste of time since they don't know exactly which part is defective. I'm just happy with my voodoo for now ;-)
