Default AP1/2 axle swap?

so as you know my inner cv's are going, and i have considered just going in for the TSB, but i dont think i want another set of weak inner joints. i know that the AP2 axle is stronger and a much improved design.

from honda i cant get anyone to varify if THEY ARE in fact swapable, but from a morons standpoint they look exactly the same.

1. They are swapable.
2. They are the same part numbers.

04 42310-S2A-951 SHAFT ASSY., R. DRIVE $462.88
02 42310-S2A-951 SHAFT ASSY., R. DRIVE $462.88
04 42311-S2A-951 SHAFT ASSY., L. DRIVE $462.88
02 42311-S2A-951 SHAFT ASSY., L. DRIVE $462.88

So where did you get the idea that they were stronger?

They are not. If they are the same part number, they are the same part. However Honda may have updated the part and supersided the prior part number for all cars. Eitherway, they fit

how come the inner joints never go bad on ap2's? seems like its predominatly a AP1 issue

Honda changed the rear geometry. I bet the bump-steer issue and this are releated.

Also, maybe there are less 04+ cars that are slammed (lowered) and they haev less milage on them too. But that is just a guess.

Clutch Delay Valve?
i read the TSB over in the library and i guess its a AP1 issue only and also happens to cars that arent modded.

IIRC the AP1's do not have a CDV (mine doesn't)
Maybe late AP1's?
That clutch delay valve was put in to put less strain on the drivetrain.
The occasional AP2 owner removes it, but most AP2 owners leave it in I guess.
It seems to work if AP2's have less drivetrain problems.
