How is a misfire on all 4 cylinders "good news"? That sounds like pretty damn bad news to me.

why in God's name would you buy this car and not redline it for over 6,000 miles?

Buy a car with torque and a lower redline, like a 350z, let someone own the s2000 who'll drive it in the clouds where the motor sings! lol.

seriously though. Make sure if the CEL is something major, to get it fixed.

Then immediately find an empty, long highway onramp and gun it through the first 3 gears.

BTW, you're putting high octane gas in it, right?

Could have been some bad gas. Although when I did this two years ago, my cel came on and stayed on for a couple of hours. Would have gave me great concern but I knew it was the gas. A fill up with known "good" gas later and problem solved.

Just a FYI, a blinking check engine light means that catalyst damage will occur if you keep driving it. The raw gas from the misfire would cause it. If your cat does go bad ask about the emissions warranty before you pay for a new one. I believe they are warrantied for 8yr/80k miles

I'm guessing that if you keep driving it, you wouldn't get a cat under warranty - since you weren't supposed to do that...
