Default ap1 ap2 tranny

are there and ways to identify between ap1 and ap2 trannys while there out of the car, im gonna be shopping for an ap1 and want to be sure thats what i get, thanks in advance for all feedback and or photos.

Vin number is on every transmission. If it isn't, then something fishy's going on.

Replacement Bell housings don't have a VIN tag. The housing will have a R DOT stamped in it.

Otherwise, check the VIN tag.

Yes. The flange is also easy to swap, the gears inside are not.

R DOT just shows that it is a repair part, approved by the D.O.T.

oh you were still reffering to the bell housing statement, besides vin theres no other way

Unless you open the case and count gear teeth... then you have to put it all back together.
