IIRC, gears 1 thru 4 are not interchangeable between ap1 and ap2 transmissions. My question is, can the 6th gear be swapped between ap1 and ap2 transmissions?

 

I wonder how that would work with the counter shaft, just swapping out a cog like that.

 

Actually now that I think about it.... I don't think it's even possible. Looks like 6th gear Is integral to the counter shaft. Even if you change the main shaft 6th gear, it will not mesh with the counter shaft gear.

 

When you put an AP2 secondary gear in an AP1 tranny does it make the ratios the same as AP2? Or do all of the ratios get shorter by 4%?
