Default AP1 Clutch

Well I just drove my AP1 From FL to NY and back Straight through and on the way back to FL I noticed that in 6th gear doing between 60-85mph when I would go to accelerate my engine rpms would increase but my car didn’t. I believe my clutch is slipping; my clutch fluid has become low. Looking for a good clutch for my AP1 for autocross (SCCA) competition use at a reasonable price and should I replace my flywheel with a lighter one while I am in there? All comments are much appreciated.

ACT HD + OEM plate seems to be the drug of choice. Not sure the combo is SCCA approved though(?).

Exedy makes fine stuff for some applications. Nit great for this car. I went oem on last clutch. Its dead now. About 40,000 miles but 6 years of autox launches and over 30 track days on it. One track with tons of 2-3-2 shifts on it as well. I am going right back with oem but with a prolite flywheel this time

The failure on my current one was the friction material coming off in chunks messing with the clutch operation. It was worn but it fell apart before it started slipping

But somehow was not slipping on the track day a few days before I pulled it The clutch was dragging/not disengaging properly and I started noticing a grind on shifts, thinking I was losing a synchro. Then noticed something just did not feel right in the clutch. Clutch started shuddeing on engagement when I was pulling onto the trailer. Got home, started looking at stuff, noticed the clutch free play was all off (which should never need to be touched). noticed a sound forming when pressing the clutch. Stuck the inspection cam in the hole next to the clutch fork and saw chunks. Pulled tranny to find this.

I think there is joke in there about hondas, torque and not slipping a clutch with half the material missing ! The other side of the disc is fine, just worn thin the pressure plate side shown of course gave up the ghost completely.

Did it scar the flywheel and/or pressure plate?

Thanks!
