search first

you don't need an ap2 top frame to run a glass top, search and read the faq

if you're getting an ap2 frame with the ap2 top already on it, it is much easier to install.

basically you're gutting your entire frame/top, and then placing the ap2 frame/top in it's place.

it's probably easier to do it if you take the seats out, but not neccesary. you have to start by taking off the panels behind the seats, the panels to the side, the center console, rollbars, and the panel behind the seats that the softtop sits on. It's ALOT of unbolting/unscrewing/taking out tabs.

to get to some of the rollbar bolts you need to go through the trunk. (take out the spare).

make sure you keep all your bolts and stuff in specific piles as you're taking them off, otherwise it will SUCK putting it back together.

you can start taking out the interior stuff with the top down, but will need to put the top back up to get to the back tray that the top sits on.

it's pretty simple, just very time consuming. a member on here in delval did mine with me, and it took us about 5-6 hours to do the complete swap. He had already gutted his ap2 top/frame, so that time just included taking mine out, and putting his on.

It's also easier taking the frame/top out and putting the new one in with 2 people. If you don't have two people holding the top you may have trouble making sure the top is aligned correctly when first bolting it in. I'm sure there's a DIY somewhere on here for the frame swap.

Good luck!

And DO NOT try to take the plastic off the roll hoops. Each roll hoop with plastic come out as one piece. If you separate that plastic it is hell to get back together (much super glue and cursing).
