sounds like a scuffed bore if the TCT didnt solve the problem. How high is your RPM when you are filming?

maybe the valve is tapping the top of the piston??? and yeah a valve adjustment wouldnt take care of that noise its something worse than that.

82,000 miles i have owned it for the last year, no other problems... this just came out of nowhere... hasn't gotten any worse ( i don't drive the car anymore obviously). could a retainer have broke and allowed the valve to be out of whack, without actually dropping into the cylinder.

Your timing could possibly be off. It sounds like a valve is hitting the top of a piston. Is the car running sluggish?

I don't think the noise is the valve train. I'm afraid it's something more serious...

i dont understand how the timing could be off with a timing chain?? can you elaborate... i haven't gotten on the car since i heard the noise.... so idk if it sluggish... its just weird that the noise goes away on a downshift or when there isn't a load applied.

Piston slap is when the piston isnt mtched to the bore size and it moves around inside the cylinder.

Piston Slap

BTW. My R6 made the exact same noise when I hit 20k miles. I brought it in the the dealer and they said that my main bearings were toast because of oil starvation. It was a problem with the 06 model. Have you checked you oil? Do you change your filter every oil change?

well the only thing i can think of as far as bad oil is, i did my last oil change b4 winter and the car was only driven a total of 300 miles in the last 3 months.. i wonder if the oil may have broken down? or something? i was using mobile 1 full synthetic 10w-30... filter was also changed had around 2000 miles on previous change and prob added 3/4 quart throughout that time... thanks for the help guys. i really would like to diagnose the prob. b4 i have to pay someone one to start ripping into the engine...
