Default Ap1 over rev now wont start help?!

Okay last night my dumb brother miss shift downing, he said he was trying to go from 5 or 6 gear to 4th gear but missed it and went into 2nd gear, car didn't start so this morning took off vavle cover and found out one of the rocker arms broke off and one of the spark plugs looked like someone hammered it on the tip. Used a magnet to get all the metal pieces that broke off..check timing chain at tdc everything is lined up, could anything be bent? Also should I just buy another rocker arm and replace it? Help please

Valvetrain is trashed. Definitely had piston to valve contact; time to pull the head.

Pressurize the cylinder and listen for severe leaking... chances are you will hear some loud hissing from either the intake or the exhaust. You will be pulling the head my friend.

Its going to be a pretty penny im guessing around 6-7k? depending on the labor in your area. Motors for these are very pricey. Before changing motors i would just pull the head and see what can be salvaged! So your not wasting money on something you dont need.

It would also help to learn to shift.

You went into 2nd instead of 4th because you fell victim to a classic shifting mistake, forcing the shifter around. Had you let the shifter center and pulled it straight back - no problems.

At a min, something in the head is messed up. Worse case, you dropped a valve and scored a wall. Replace entire block.

^Way to read. He wasn't driving the car but I am sure he will forward your comment to who was driving. Either way not a very helpful post.

OP Get the head pulled and see what the damage is. STOP trying to start the car cause you could just be causing more damage. Also the cost shouldn't be as expensive as Andersonracing said. Basically if there is enough damage to the bottom end you are better off buying a used engine and swapping that it. If its just the head a machine shop should be able to repair and replace the valve train. If you don't have a local hook up for parts PM Enjoy Racing on here for help. They may also be able to help with a refurbished head. Anyways look in your local subforum for help and shop recommendations. Someone may be able to help you pull the head as well to save the labor cost.

im guessing your valves are bent and your walls are scored, time for a new motor. Pull the head and inspect.
