Ap1 rough start
Hello, i really need help. My ap1 all of a sudden started having problems, it has a rough start and when i turn it on i had to accelerate to keep it kn. The smoke out of the exhaust smells like pure gas. I’ve changed, coil pack, spark plus, air idle control valve and even the fuel pressure regulator. I have a friend with another ap1, i noticed that when he turns the keys to the second position to turn in the car is quiet around the fuel rail, mines makes a noise as if fuel is running through even though it’s not kn. I’m not sure if this is normal, just thought i should put that out there for more details. Car also has a check light on, which has been there since i bought the car, but the code it give is foe the air pump. Im not sure if the aur pump is the problem, since it was working fine before.

oh and the sound of the fuel running is coming from the fuel pressure damper.
My suggestion would be to eliminate possibilities. With a rough idle and exhaust smelling like fuel, I'd start by checking your plugs to see if any of them are wet. If so, swap plugs and coil packs with another cylinder to see if it changes cylinders. If it stays with the same cylinder, do a compression test. If compression is good in all cylinders and the problem stays with the same cylinder, swap injectors.
If all plugs look good and the misfire is random, I'd check your vacuum lines and vacuum pressure. Recheck to see if you're not getting a misfire code.
That's a start. I suggest that you not drive your car until you figure this out since you will likely burn up your cat. Good luck.
