Default ap1 venting pcv to atmosphere question

My ap1 is burning oil (surprise surprise). Just did a 800 mile trip and I had to add close to a full quart. Just did a oil change prior to the road so I know its fresh oil. Anyways I have a closed catch can (greddy) that I used for a month or so and still had oil consumption. So I want to try something new to figure out why its burning oil. I want to add a line to the pcv valve and aim it straight down to the ground (2-3 feet line) so it vents out to the ground and not spray oil (idk if it does or not) under my hood. I will cap off the intake port so no vacuum leak. I understand this is not emissions legal but we dont get visual under hood inspections where im from and as long as theres no check light im good.

So what do you guys think? From what I read this is the best option even tho its not legal. Just wana see if it helps any and any opinion is appreciated. Already put in a new oem honda pcv valve, ap2 retainers on both sides, new keepers on both sides, and valve stem seals on both.

Have you tried the Supra twin-turbo PCV valve? There is a thread on that under Forced Induction (I believe).

Can this be done without getting CEL errors? Anyhow, my understanding is the PCV is to vent un-burnt gas blow-by from the combustion chamber, away from the crank area. Then, back into the intake, to get burnt. It should not cause oil to pass into the combustion chamber. And get burnt.

If you run a draft tube, you may not get sufficient pull of the blow-by gases in stop-&-go driving.

Anyhow, just a thought.

unless of course the PCV is stuck open and allows oil to come through.

Vent your catch can. The PCV valve is normally under manifold vacuum. Run a breather to your catch can.

If you cap off your PCV valve, your oil consumption will go up.

For street use...you shouldn't need a catch can. Make sure the PCV valve is not clogged. Was the car burning oil before the catch can? How much?

I have a brand new oem honda pcv valve in now. That didnt really help any. Im hooking up the catch can again (pcv to catch can to intake manifold). I never noticed the amount of oil inside the catch can until yesterday. Theres oil in it but not enough to show on the reading just yet. So for now I will try the catch can again and monitor the oil level.

And no, I never planned to cap the pcv valve. I wanted to cap the intake manifold port and for the pcv valve I just wanted to try: pcv valve to hose to ground.

I have tried pcv to atmosphere and I didn't notice a change in my oil consumption on my 01. I ran both the vent and pcv to atmosphere and still didn't notice anything. Might try a new pcv. Mine seems to not be broken but they are cheap.
