Default AP1 Vs AP2 Parts

I am new here. I have been milling around for several weeks now and reading posts. I am not new to the import tuning scene. I have owned several modified cars: 00 Civic Si, 02 Gti 337, 97 Vr6, 04 Evo VIII, 06 350Z, etc.
I will be buying a new 07 S2K next week and I have been putting together the list of mods that I want to get for my ride.
I am planning on doing some head work to the car and possible cams while I'm in there.
I have noticed that some parts like the Spoon valve springs, cams, etc say they are for only AP1/F20C, but when I contacted Spoon they said that most all parts fit both applications.
Is this true?
Can I run the Spoon cams, valve springs in a 06-07 S2k?
Will other parts like the oil catch tank, spark plug cover, brake rotors, etc fit as well?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'd spend $1000 on new final drive gears long before I would spend it on new cams.

I believe they do.
They are listed on several websites.
Spoon Cams

They are listed here on the Spoon website.

As you can see they are listed for the F20C. Will they work in the F22?

I will probably do final drive as well, but my question is do these parts listed for the F20C work on the new F22 engines?

Even the Spoon brake rotors and calipers are listed for F20C. Is there any difference in the braking system?

I too would do gears first.
I cringe when I think about cracking open a fresh block.

Yes spoon does make cams for the F20c. I do not know if these are interchangeable with the F22C cam. Best bet would be to find replacement part # for F20C and F22C engines from SLhonda.com and see if they match.

I have not seen dyno for these cams, but I imagine they don't give much gain.. probably not a worthwhile mod until you've maximized money elsewhere.

i think the spoon cams are meant for f20c and unless your going to rev to 9000 i think you might loose power. you might want to find a cam meant for f22c

Well, I will be doing a lot of other bolt-ons before I crack the head open, but when I do I want to get everything done at once. No need to go back in there again if your replacing the springs, retainers, and valves.

I will say that the CAMs are differant from F20C and F22C. Honda changed the profile and duration. So Spoon designed the cams for the F20C and tuned it for the 2.0L motor. They did not get the 2.2 until this year. So AP2 internals will be some time to come.

There are few places that the AP1 and AP2 differ, but inside the motor is one they surely do!
