The parts are not sold separately. It is a large curved spring, I doubt it would be missing perhaps it is still jammed up inside the part and just not working, you might be able to fix it if the spring is still there. It is a simple contraption.

Unfortunately you can't buy it on its own. I used the coil from a E90/E60 BMW cupholder that worked well.

If you can find one at Pull-a-Part for cheap it's a good idea.

I checked the underside of the center console and it's not there, can i be stuck under the arm rest in the open position?

Was the bmw coil a perfect fit kr did you have to trim it or modify it in any other way?

It could be stuck in there yes, if you have owned the car for a while you would have noticed if the spring fell out as it is large enough that you would not miss it. If there was a previous owner of your car then it may have gone missing in the past.

I bought the armrest used, but how can i get the spring out if it's stuck in the open position? I tried looking for it, and i couldn't find it

It all comes apart, if you take it completely apart and it is not there then the person who sold you the armrest sold it with the missing part. Knowing you bought it from someone else then anything is possible and it could be missing.

I just took the whole center console apart, and it's not there. I can see the slots it's meant to go in but there is no spring.
