Default AP2 Clutch Buzz?

I will start off by saying Hello to everyone here at S2KI, as I am proud new owner of a 04 Silverstone AP2! Came from a 8th gen Civic and couldn't be happier.

Secondly, before I get flamed for creating another clutch buzz topic, realize that I am talking about a 2004 AP2, not the 00-02 AP1. I haven't really seen any forums speaking of the issue with the AP2. So now I'm starting an official AP2 clutch buzz thread so people like me can search it!! haha

Anyways, I've started to notice this after a week or two of owning the car. And I feel like it has gotten slightly worse(could be me getting used to the car). The car isn't shifting or driving differently but I have noticed two things that tell me it's definitely a clutch issue:

1. Happens noticeably on deceleration, although I can hear it most all the time while driving.(Typical symptom)
2. When I push the clutch in, the noise disappears whether I'm in gear or not.

The car only has 32K miles and is entirely stock. Barely driven in the past few years up until I purchased it. Since I'm a new owner, I'd like some advice and opinions from fellow Ap2 owners, specifically those with 04-05 models. Is this the typical clutch buzz or an issue I should worry about? Considering the clutch buzz problem was supposedly solved before the AP2 model, it has me wondering...

Thanks in advance for any help!

My '07 has it. You'll get used to it... or you won't and you'll spend a lot of money trying to get rid of it.

I have the same problem (2007). Definitely not an AP1-only issue.

Yeah its pretty normal. I had a 2000 and now have a 2004. Both have the buzz. My 2000 model got really bad and the dealer who sold me the car replaced the entire clutch and plate for me at no charge at which point it went away.

But Its normal for these cars. Both clutch and gas pedal vibrate on de-acceleration in lower gears.

MY07 did not have it until I replaced my clutch with the SOS kit. Now it has it at times but the clutch freakin' grabs when I want it to, worthy trade off.

Ah, so at least I'm not the only one. It doesn't bother me and again, my car is stock, so I hear everything! Including what sounds like piston slap or valves tapping on a cold start. But that goes away after warm-up.

Either way, I'm happy with my purchase. I'll fix whatever problems it may have down the long road ahead, but it better not have any major issues for a while considering the mileage.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm amazed that even newer models have this "buzz" issue... thought Honda could have solved that one after 8 years in production.

As far as I can tell, Honda solved the clutch buzz issue by 2003. That's when I bought a new OEM disk to replace the original in my '00. I've heard no trace of the noise since.

No OEM clutch used after MY02 has the same buzz under decel the MY00-01 had. If your clutch is buzzing under decel you've got an aftermarket clutch disc. Original discs used after MY01 do not make the same noises. You may be hearing a noise under decel, but it's not the same that was described in the now very old TSB.
