Default AP2 Exhaust by Versions

Hello everyone, prayerfully this message finds you all well and healthy. I recently had my catalytic converter stolen, and am trying to source exhaust parts for my 04 AP2. I know that there are some variations between the AP2 v1 and the AP2 v2 in a number of regard, however I wanted to know if the exhaust is compatible, and if clearance for whatever would be an issue (from header to the muffler). To make a long prompt short, can I put the exhaust from an 06+ on my 04? Please let me know when you can, and I appreciate you taking the time.

Yes, any year AP2 exhaust will fit your AP2 without mods.

The 06+ has a different helmholtz resonator shape. Not sure if that's a functionally significant change, or just a change because it was easier/cheaper to manufacture.

I can concur. My '06 has had an ap1 cat, and an '04 ap2 stock exhaust installed, all fit with no clearance issues.

The o2 sensor location is slightly different locations on various model year cats, but all interchange without issue. O2 wiring easily reaches.

Sorry for the loss of the cat. We are experiencing a rash of thefts in my area. My son had his stolen. I have taken two cars (Jeep and Tacoma) to a shop and had stainless, hardened steel rods welded along the pipes. I have not done that for the S2000 as it is normally garaged and it is very low to the ground. You are the first I have seen on this forum who had a cat stolen.

Question: How did the theft occur? Where was it and how did they jack it up? Any lift damage?
