Audible rev limit warning...
I have an earlier version and it works fine. the only thing I had to do was add a louder beeper so I could hear it with a helmet on, top down and full 1st gear acceleration. The newer versions may have that licked by default...
I've had one of these since Modifry first invented it. I extended the speaker wire and moved the speaker to the driver's side, wrapped it in black and tucked it down into the corner of the dash by the windshield. The sound carries up along the windshield and I can hear it through everything.
This engine revs so fast in 1st gear, that it's a "must have" when you need to shift in a hurry and can't take your eyes off the road.

Mine's mounted on the steering column just in front of the instrument cluster. That's partly to keep the volume loud (tried at least half a dozen beepers from Radio Shack before I got a keeper) and partly because I was trying a small red lamp for a visual clue. The lamp isn't nearly bright enough during the day so it's a waste but it sure lights up fine at night.
For autocrossing, the ability to simply listen for the shift indicator means I don't hit the rev limiter or short-shift nearly as often. It's set at Modifry's 8700 setting which works perfectly as long as you're paying attention. Wait for the beep and shift as soon as you can make you hands and feet operate and you will only get a maximum of 1 rev limiter hit - just about perfect!

I took a tip from Tedster, and when I installed this I did the following:
ran the beeper wire past the radio over to the driver's side
put velcro on the underside of the dash trim near the steering wheel -- this is where the beeper sits normally
put velcro on a little flat spot just underneath the A/C controls -- this is where the beeper sits when I am on the track
Made sure I had enough wire length to reach both spots, then wired in the beeper.
======
The result is that the beeper is nicely out of sight and mind during normal driving, but when I go out on the track I reposition it. Sitting right there below the A/C unit it is plenty loud to be heard when I am at full throttle on the track, even if I am talking to an instructor.
