What do you dudes think of this stuff? I was wondering what the value on it would be just as maintenance material? I dont believe its gonna make my engine new or anything outrageous, just wana clean any gunk or varnish up that may be lurking inside.

pop your valve covers off to see if you got gunk in there. My car engine is CLEAN at 70K miles. I think its the 3K full synthetic oil change intervals...its seriously as thought it came off the factory. the only thing showing any signs of use is normal wear items..

also, with the 3K intervals...after roughly the 3rd 3K change, the oil coming out was light brown. I know the color is not a showing of how good/bad the oil is, but that shows how little gunk there is in there

Auto-rx is reputed to be the best product out there providing a gentle and safe cleaning of the engine, if that is what you are looking for. It is good for keeping the rings free of deposits which I think is very important for oil control and compression. Make sure to follow their instructions with the use, non-synthetic oil only during the run and their recommended oil change interval for oil and filter and you will be good to go. It is an excellent product. If you don't want to do a full cleaning, you can also run it as a maintenance dose in smaller quantities over longer periods of time.

If it sounds like snake oil it probably is.

This isn't a snake oil product, there are many products out there that might be, but this one actually works as advertised.

You can find hundreds of first-hand real-world experience reports on this product at the oil forums on www.bobistheoilguy.com , from people that have used it. It's a high quality product that will effectively clean an engine safely, again if that is what you need it for.

I haven't heard of any Auto manufacturer that recommends any kind of cleaner, flush, engine restore in a can etc etc.

some car manufacturers do offer cleaning treatments. there are people who work in the oil industry on bob is the oil guy, i am pretty sure auto-rx and other solvents would be shot down if they were ineffective.

Notice that is listed for Motorcycles? It's also a top engine cleaner, not a oil system flush, they are used very differently.

AHM has a pretty clear no-flushing policy for all Honda and Acura cars. No oil system flush is endorsed by them.
