Mine burns 1qt/1000mi. Excessive yes...but only when I use synthetics.

 

none, nada,never, zip, changed every 3500-4000miles, i do not drive this car every day, i have 26,000 on it and it will be 3 years old this month. i usea 10/30 oil, chevron bought at costco and changed myself.

AP2's don't have this oil burning problem right? Mine doesn't lose oil.

 

'03 ap1 60k miles w/mobil 1. i burn about .6 or .7qts every 1000mi.

 

I may be a rare case, but I drive an AP1 and haven't lost any oil since my last change, 1500 miles ago. I use 10w30, not synthetic, hit VTEC a few times a week (mainly on weekends) drive the car for an hour a day (at least) in traffic, and my oil level is SPOT ON.

 

+/- one quart,every 1500 miles.!!!Normal.

 

I drove from San Diego to Chicago and I found that I needed to add about 1/2 a quart every 1000 miles crusing at 80mph. I was using synthetic quaker. But i think it varies on the oil. Im using Royal Purple now and dont burn any oil and I love to Vtec.

 

Wow, you really plan ahead. You don't even have the car yet and you are asking about oil consumption.

With my AP1 I burned about 1-1.5 quarts between oil changes ~3750 miles, until I hit about 15,000 miles and then it didn't burn a drop.

With my AP2 it has never burned a drop between oil changes.

In both cars I ran Dino Oil for the first 10,000miles and then switched to full synthetic.

I run Mobil1 10W30 synthetic in my AP2 MY04 with a 5000 mile change interval. Currently at 30K miles. Uses no oil at all (well, at least not discernable). As you can see, there is quite a variation in oil usage between S2Ks. It does seem, though, that the AP2s use a lot less.
