Red face Back from Storage

Hey gang, it's been some time since I've posted on here, but I would like to get some opinion about what I should be doing now that I finally have some time on my hands and will be driving the AP1 again. I am a little lost about where and what I should start with. I have an 03' with just 60K miles, it's been sitting in my garage for the past 2.5 years. The first year I managed to start it up a few times every month, but I went away for grad school, and since then, I've only started the beast up once every few months. Battery's been out for the past few months, and I have also been planning for a wedding, there just never seems to be enough time to enjoy the car. Now that things are starting to settle back down again, I will have more time and more money to pour back into the car. It's my weekend and mini-road trip vehicle.

What do you guys suggest me do... change all the fluids and then turn the car over or... Any suggestion as to where to start is must appreciated. TYIA!

If you're not turning the car on to drive it for a few miles, you really shouldn't even bother turning it on. If you're going to leave the car for a good long while and are planning on removing the battery. Pull the spark plugs and turn the engine over a couple times before turning it on.

Oil prime it before starting it. Unplug the EFI fuse or/and injectors and crank it at WOT for 10 sec at a time. Pause for 5 sec. Then crank again at WOT for 10 seconds.

Repeat that until the oil light extinguishes.

Then plug in the fuse/injectors and start the car.

Slow, will remember that for this fall. I almost want to get rid of it since I live in the midwest and we only get nice weather 4-6 months out of the year.

B_series, would you recommend replacing the engine oil first than priming it before I start it?

In addition to the above, replace your battery. If your tires are over 5 years old, you may want to replace them. Oil and brake fluid change.

Dump the fuel and put fresh stuff in. 2.5 years on fuel is too long even with stabilizer.

Future, don't start the car while in storage. Warming it up like that just causes wear, creates moisture. Add fuel stabilizer, let car run for a while so injectors get a taste of the stabilized fuel. Throw on a battery tender. Then just leave it.

For real long storage like years there are some other things you can do, but no matter what, don't be starting it during storage.

Car_Analogy, I am from Minnesota, and I don't plan on driving the car during the winter months... how would you suggest going about storing the S2K for the winter months?
