Multiple warning lights came on, on my way to work this morning (brake, battery, vsa, abs, check engine). Right before the car died, the power steering light came on, then I lost the power steering. After boosting the battery, the meter read 10.7. I assume the alternator is bad, but why did all these warning lights come on? Is it due to low voltage to the computer?

Any assistance/advice is appreciated!

 

I'd start with getting that battery checked at a parts store. If it checks out, get them to charge. How old is the battery?
