bad waterpump?

Default bad waterpump?

my s2000 is overheating and the heater doesnt work. figured it'd be water pump, but after taking it out, i don't see anything wrong with it. anyone have any ideas?

It's an AP1 with pretty low miles

Did you check the thermostat? Is the system bled?

was there coolant in front of the motor before u took it apart?

thermostat is brand new. what do you mean by bled?

s2k dre
there was coolant in the water pump when i took it out. is that what meant?

There are two bleed nipples on the S2K. One is between the intake manifold and the valve cover (cylinder #1 closest to the front) and the other is on the metal tube that runs along the firewall by the wipers.

If you changed the thermostat, once you filled it up with fluid again you should start the car (turn the heater on) and then crack the front bleeder open a little to get all the air out. Once you see coolant coming out close it.

Your problem sounds like there was air in the system.

Guaranteed.

It takes some trial to get the air out. No heat means air in the system.
