I have an Oddessy battery, up for sale. Its a compact battery that fits into a s2000 very nicely. Its a Honda, so its reliable.

Interstate battery is what OEM is.
Avoid that "dry cell" crap it wont do anything for you in the cold.

So, you're saying that Interstate makes the Panasonic battery that came with most S2000s from the factory?

LOL. I like the Interstate for a good aftermarket replacement, however I have the Honda battery in mine.
FWIW the Interstate MT-51 has 500cca the same amount as the Honda OEM batt. I would also steer clear of the gel and dry batteries in a street car. They never seem to last and often have issues in my experience.

It turns out that some Interstate and other reasonably priced batteries work well in your truck but often have a design that does not work well in sports cars... that have vent openings that allow liquid to escape under high gee conditions. I had one for a long time but had to pull it every year or so to cleanup the corrosion. The Panasonic OEM battery and the gel batteries do not have that problem.

When was the last Panasonic battery put it a s2000??? I was under the impression they stopped getting them a while ago and switch to Interstate....unless they all still come from Japan with Panasonic and if it goes out the next day you will get Interstate replacement from the dealer because its too expensive to ship a battery from Japan.
The dealer even told me "they come in on the green truck and we stick our Honda sticker on them"
I got one from them, its an Interstate

I'm not talking about what the dealer sells you when you go ask for a replacement battery. I'm talking about what comes in an S2000 from the factory. That's what "OEM" means. If a dealer gets a battery as a replacement, they can put whatever sticker they want on them. That doesn't make them "OEM". You can put a "Honda" sticker on a bottle Amway soap. That doesn't make it "OEM".
The last model year of S2000 was what? 2009? Anybody got one? What was the battery that came in it when you picked it up new at the dealer? Interstate is a US made battery. I doubt Honda Japan is going to buy all their S2000 batteries from the US and have them shipped to Japan to put into their new S2000s. I'm not disputing that Interstate is a good (or bad) battery, just that it is incorrect to say that it's the OEM battery for this car.

Here you go .............. You can still order an OEM battery in Canada ..............
"BATTERY ASSY. (55B24R S-MF) (PANASONIC)" for a 2009 Honda S2000. That's what came in the car from the factory.
