Default Battery Issues

I got home yesterday and my battery was dead. I replaced it with a friend of mine's battery until I got to the store to buy a new one. Everything worked fine. Today I took out my friend's battery and put the one that I purchased in. The alarm worked, but when I went to start the car, the dash lights didnt even come on. I disconnected the battery thinking that it was a dud and put my friend's battery back in. While disconnected, the alarm didnt work. I put my friend's back in and now the same thing happens. The alarm works, but the interior lights dont work and the dash doesnt light up with the key in. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

OE battery? if you have an odyssey battery of another LTW battery i would pull it out and find the problem, it might be a fuse if you havent checked. if you have an OE battery and no fuses out then i dont know, maybe your draining power from a bad ground, but if you cant even get the int lights on then im confused. good luck

The dash doesnt turn on, the lights dont turn on, the trunk doesnt pop, etc. When the battery died before, the car turned on, it just wouldnt crank over. Now the car doesnt turn on. I am thinking that it must be the battery fuse?!

My guess would be to check fuses too.

I saw that there is a 100A battery fuse. Is there any other ones that it could be?

Do you have a battery backup for your alarm? If so, that's why it's working.

You really should have a multitester to figure out where the problem is. If you check voltage after the 100 amp fuse, you will find out if this is the problem. If you show voltage after the 100 amp fuse, keep going downstream until you find the problem.

Im not sure if the alarm has a backup battery or not, but it doesnt work when there is no battery connected. When a battery is connected, it will work. It arms and disarms. Im going to try to swap out the battery fuse and hope that fixes the problem.

It ended up being the fuse. All is good.
