Default bent rear suspension

A fellow s2ki-er I just met at an S2000 meet told me that my rear suspension is bent. My rear driver side wheel is pretty scuffed up. I slid into a curb and the rear wheel bounced off it at like 20mph. He suggested that I make an insurance claim and have it fixed. When he looked at it my car was parked on a slant so Im wondering if its really as bad as he says. My car drives straight and doesn't seem to pull left or right.

what is envolved in getting this fixed if it is messed up? He says right now that the tire is taking all the wear from this.

Im getting new yoko ES100's installed on friday or saturday. They are supposed to align my S. I believe only the rear suspension is bent according to what my fellow s2ki-er said at the meet. Do you know how this would affect driving? My car feels aligned so I don't get it?

If something is bent they will discover it when they do the alignment. They can then advise you if it is correctable via alignment or needs frame work and/or parts replacement.

Good Luck!

I think you will like the ES100s.

A word of caution, just be careful until you get to the tire store. If a corner took a hard hit it is possible something is fractured instead of bent which could lead to catastrophic failure. If you have another car to drive until the car goes in for tires and alignment, park the S2K. If you have to drive it, listen for any strange sounds and watch for any change in handling. By all means, drive the car gently until it is looked at.
