Default Berk test pipe with heat shield-pics

i didnt want to run the test pipe w/o the heat shield, it looks totally stock now, i had a muffler shop cut the O2 sensor hole to make it a little bigger, then he welded brackets to use the stock heat shield, heres the results, looks totally stock. here you go.

Maybe a stupid question, but what benefits do you get from running a heatshield w/ the test pipe as opposed to none at all?

I can think of security from the po

Hahah, that's shady as hell. I love it!

I'd do that to my berk test pipe I just ordered, but I'd really like to keep my cat. converter intact so that it can go back on the car whenever I eventually sell it.

the guy charged me $25 to do it. i can swap the covers when ever i want, i assume the heat shield still does help heat stay in, but im pretty sure the test pipe is alot cooler than the cat because of the nature of the cat, and the added resistance of the cat. looks totally stock, no CEL, all for $125, not too bad.

Thanks for pointing that out. I thought the cover would have been a fair bit more than that.

I'll probably do that once I've had the test pipe on the car for a while, just in case I don't like it for some reason.
