The Best Intake Header Exhaust
i'm currently saving up for a s2k and i need some info on the best intake, header, exhaust combo. what brands make the most hp? any dynos or links would help thanks in advance
i see you are new to the forum...welcome!
best intake?
no one really seems to stand out among the others... the AEM and Injen seem to be reasonably priced and have had good results on the dyno...MuZ has a new intake too that looks promising!
expensive ones...mugen..spoon...j's racing...
best header?
if u are after mid range then mugen seems undisputer king
top range: the spoon have had some good gains in top end.. i once saw a page advertising the hks header adding 6hp peak...i also saw a post of it losing power awhile back...
best exhaust for performance?
amuse and spoon single tips seem to be the only ones making the mariginal power...also cheak out j's racing..apexi...kakimoto...or just about any single top systems for power...
the best way to find out more the best is to click that little "search/adv" button on your top right and look up info on all the intakes...header...exhaust...
There have been heaps of threads on the topic before...
Good luck!

Here's my opinion :
Intake
-Good engine response = inbox filter + air duct
-Good power gains = AEM
Header
-mid range power = Mugen
-peak power = Spoon , Maxim Works or Honda Twincam
Exhaust
-Amuse R1 = Super light weight Ti exhaust most power gains
-Spoon N1 = light weight SS and decent power gains
-HKS = not much difference
-Mugen = Super quiet minor gains

well, if you only gonna put the best parts on your S, then here they are:
Intake: Mugen/J's CAI, a CAI noticeably benfits the F20C engine due to the increased cooling effiency. cooler temp = higher engine output, and the Mugen CAI looks disgustingly beautiful.
Spoon air duct w/ filter works fine too, but I do not consider it a real CAI.
Header: Mugen makes more mid range pwr while Spoon is focusing on the very high end; Mugen's got the best welding and finish I ever seen.
Exhaust: for single, Amuse/J's both produce decent power gain while having the stylish look, Spoon sounds awesome but I cant compliment its look. Top secret one looks very identical to the Amuse but its made of SS, so expect the higher weight.
for dual: Amuse dual Ti exhaust, the tone is deep but not so loud, sporty while sumhow civilized. Mugen's design is very similar to the stock setup and the Mugen Japan claims 0hp on their official site.

The Top Secret exhaust is made of Ti as well. The whole thing weighs only 5lbs and is very loud more so than the Amuse. Not a good thing when taking long trips.

Thanks Konard for correcting me
The J's racing one is made of SS, and its nearly twice the weight of the Amuse R1.
I havent heard the sound clip of the Top Secret exhaust, but the Amuse single which I dont know if its R1 or R1000 is very loud, its probabily as loud as the Spoon N1 if not louder.
