BIG Speedometer & Odometer Error
Gentlemen,I hope I am in the correct forumn. I used the Search function; but, it is either disabled, or, the keywords "speedometer" and "odometer" were not archived. In any case, I was out "breaking in" my 2005 S2.2K, today. When I came to spot in the road, at a stop sign, I pushed the "Trip B" tab to reset it to 0.0. At first, I thought I had not pushed it hard enough, so, I pushed again to reset to "Trip B" and then proceded to push harder. This time, the tripmeter went to 0.0; however, the odometer, which had been reading somewhere near 340, changed to 586. I switched to "Trip A," and saw that it too had advanced to 586.2!
Furthermore, I found out that the speedometer was now (guesstimating) reading about 24 to 33 MPH over the original readings. I know this because I was using the recommended shift point (e.g. 15 MPH = 3500 rpm, 25 MPH = 4000 rpm, etc.) I only hope that the tachometer was accurate.
I drove straight to the dealership from which I had purchased the S2.2K. I will be unable to address the problem until Wednesday, my afternoon off. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I'll bet you hit the button that put you into KILOMETERS.
Hopefully, your dealer won't be an ass about it and charge you an hour's labour just to push the button to turn if back to MILES.

My first thought too....hahahah
BTW 340 * 1.6 = 544
you pressed the KM button you should notice that while at 65MPH everyone is flying around you on the highway because you're only going 65KPH = 40MPH
it's a simple mistake don't feel bad!
xviper, CrazyPhuD,
Thanks guys! I thought it was electronic brain failure, as I had a 1988 Accord that had all electrical fail except the spark plugs. Turns out it was brain failure after all; only, it was organic brain (mine) failure in the case of my S2.2K.
BTW S2K 9000rpm & CrazyPhuD, nice cars!!!
