I'm PISSED.. As driving to work my CEL lite up.. Here at work and I have two codes.. P1457 and P1457 PD.. What gives!!

Start at page one of this thread. The fix/diagnostics bill recommends is the proper procedure for this repair.

Easiest way to check would be to monitor fuel pressure and remove the gas cap. That would reveal a vacuum lock.

Yeah I'm trying to get the adapter to test at the pulsation damper, per helms. Requires a special tool.

If either or both of those valves are bad does it do any harm?

Is there any negative effect to running with this code on?

Yes, any other code that needs to set you will never know. Plus you are pissing away fuel (in vapor form)

I highly recommend fixing it.

you say its easy monitor the fuel pressure from removing the gas cap? how do i check ? how do i confirm the issue neither being the gas cap or valve set.

Mr. T is having a strange problem. A fuel gauge a the pulsation damper is the method.

For the problem Billman is addressing, follow his steps if you're getting a CEL.
