Default black oil...safe to start?

Just came down to my parent's house (to my S too). It has been stored for about 3 months and the oil has gone almost black. I was informed it was due to oxidation and is safe to start. It is 10:30 @ night and I have to drive 2 hours tomorrow first thing in the morning. I was wondering if starting and driving with this oil is in anyway harmful to my car. I have turbo if that makes any difference. I can probably check into Jiffy Lube really quick and get an oil change if absolutely nessesary. Think it'll be okay to just drive it?

It should be ok to start it up, but I'd get that oil changed before driving a long distance. Best idea yet would be to just change it yourself in your parent's garage if you can.

I would rather run the black oil than to get it changed at Jiffy Lube.

I would change the oil but I have no time. I have about 30mins before I have to go to VA. Driving with the oil shouldn't be too much harm I guess...hopfully...

3 hrs between your first and last post and you have no time to change your oil? It takes 20 mins at most.

Like I said...itz 10:30 PM (@ NIGHT). I have no spare motor oil and stores are all closed. Well..were closed, I guess, since itz the next day now.

I figured missing an appointment was gonna be hell of a lot less to pay than when I screw up my motor so I just changed the oil this morning. Little late now but I can make it if I rush heh heh.

Oil quality is more critical in a turbocharged car than in an NA car... change it if you can with full synthetic.

This is not meant to be critisicm. The next time you store your car change to fresh oil prior to storage. The oxidation/contaminants will not be left in the engine to cause damage. Hope everything works out OK.
