Default block your throttle body coolant

Everyone knows heat sucks power from your engine. Many in our area have replaced the OEM air box with a CAI.

Here is a summer-time mod that, for less than a dollar, will decrease your intake air temperature an additional ~5 degrees fahrenheit -- ball bearings slipped into each of the feed/return coolant hoses to you throttle body. This link describes the install (which takes about 10 minutes), courtesy of hondassport.

There is absolutely no engine bog when the AC is turned on, even at low rpms. It's actually quite amazing.

Just remember to take them out when it's cold enough to turn your heater back on.

I've considered doing something like this myself but wanted to make it a one time mod and not having to mess with it twice a year when winter comes and goes.
I thought about somehow adapting the same valve that Honda uses on the heater hose that controls the water flow to the heater core. It might not be easy as the hose diameters may be too different.

BTW, you should not get a CEL after this mod. I don't think anyone here has.
