Hi, i recently blew my head on 03 s2000, does anybody know where i can find a NEW complete oem head? thank you

 

Try your local dealer. Expect to pay about $1,500. What happened to your current head?

 

 

i blew it downshifting from the top of 3rd to 2nd

 

I'd expect more than that. List is ~$3800, Majestic Honda has them at ~$2700. Then again, it looks like that's for the whole head assembly w/ cams, valves, etc. I don't know if they even sell just the head by its self.

I would advise you to do a good bit of research or take the car to a mechanic very familiar with the s2000. While your miss-shift undoubtedly caused damage, it's hard to tell where the damage has been done without pulling the motor apart. You more than likely bent/dropped valves which would cause more damage to the bottom end than the head.

 

 

thats what i figured but my situation isnt easy, im military and while on leave in my homestate 14 hours away from my duty station this occured so my car is sitting in missouri while im in texas, i have a friend that is a honda tech in which will fix it while im gone and we both think i probably bent all the valves and im hoping they didntdrop on the cylinders and tear the bottom end up, we will see

 

Not trying to come off the wrong way, but I hate to see people talking themselves into expensive replacements when repairs/rebuilds are all that's necessary. If someone told you that you "blew the head" when you downshifted, ask for a more accurate explanation of the problem, and bring that information here, to the site.

There are plenty of people here with the knowledge to guide you in the right direction. Sometimes, a replacement is absolutely necessary. More often than not, there is a cheaper and just as satisfactory solution.
