Default Blown Retainer

So right about at 8k rpms this happened:

Does anyone know where I can order just one Ferrea Titanium Retainer # E11045 ?

I think this is what I need... the valves are +1mm.

Pic now works... that's really bad. Is the valve still in the head or did it meet the piston crown?

I would think total disassembly and inspection would be the proper course of action. With the galling that Ti is subject to there might be another one or two that need to be replaced if not all.

something definitely isnt right there

what springs do you have?

do the retainers snap into the springs nice and tight?

the TI galls b/c the retainer dosnt fit in the spring properly, if everything fits properly you can go forever on ti retainers.

either way, id pull the head and inspect everything. that valve is probably bent as well.

The springs are the Ferrea dual spring S10074. This head has only been assembled for about 15k miles and everything still fits nice and tight.

They are a top company. You don't need a whole set, but definitely bug them for the one. 8000 rpm is nothing (unless it was without load...) but I have heard for years that Ti teardown was more on the range of 10k. I have never read any analyses that supported more or less miles, just anecdotal.
