blue smoke from the Exhaust
This Eastern holidays we made a trip from Barcelona, Spain, to Portbleu, France. It was 300 kms of hard driving, mostly in 2nd gear, through twisted roads. During the trip a friend notice a blue smoke from one of the pipes, passenger side, in the first 100 kms of the trip. I was in the middle of a hard turn. The smell was horrible according to him. This situation never repeated again for the rest of the trip. Once I arrive home the next day, 800 km later, I checked engine oil level and it was Full, no oil consumption.
I remember that I hit the rev limiter once, but do not know if that at the same moment when my friend saw the blue smoke form my pipes
Any idea?

Open your hood and you'll notice a little tube that goes from the valve cover to the middle of the intake manifold. That's your Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve (PCV valve.) It allows air to flow out of the crankcase - it gets sucked into the intake instead of venting to the atmosphere for envionmental reasons. Sometimes that air has some oil in it during hard cornering. It's completely normal and nothing to worry about.
If you do lots of track racing, it's a good idea to have an oil catch can to prevent this, but that's overkill for hitting the twisties every once in a while.

you have cracked a piston ring

the blue smoke only happened once and I did not have any oil consumption.
if the ring is broken should not the engine make a different noise?
