Default Boost & AF Gauge Installation Questions

I'm installing my Autometer A/F Ratio and Boost gauge and have a couple of questions.

1.) First the A/F Ratio gauge. I've read a couple of threads and look at my Helms manual (pg 11-18). I know there are two O2 sensors. I used the WHT wire on the 31P connector going into the ECM. This is the primary heated oxygen sensor wire.

The problem is that the LEDs on the gauge are all over the place from Rich to Lean. Is this normal for the Vortech SC?

2.) Second the boost gauge. Its rated from 0-35 psi and is a mechanical gauge. I spliced in the vacuum line running off of the Vortech electronic control box under the dash for the pressure line. When I start up the car the gauge does nothing, will this work or do I need to run another line out closer to intake?

What am I doing wrong?

Any help or clarification would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

Wait and check the boost gauge again when the rpms are up. At lower rpms there is no boost but rather a vacuum.

On the A/F gauge its normal for the gauge to bounce between rich an lean then give a steady reading at WOT.

Same thing happening to me jahnke. I ran the car but still no boost reading on my gauge. How fast did you have to go and at what RPMs do you get a reading? Thanks.
