Default BOV experts advice needed

Let me start off by saying, I'm a moron.

I've got a SC with aftercooler that has a TiAL BOV. Well, for some reason I thought my belt wasn't tight enough, so I tightened her up a bit and went for a test drive. About 30 seconds into the drive, "SCRREEEECCCHHH!!!... WHACK, WHACK, WHACK, WHACK, KER-KLING" My belt shredded itself into a fine powder with just a little tidbit left wrapped around the SC pulley. So, I turned around and drove nice and easy back home. Put on a new belt with much less tension and went for a drive again. Now my BOV don't blow off anymore.

It's not a tension problem this time, the SC is blowing just fine. The only thing I can think of is that I sucked my BOV and poped a gasket somewhere on it. I pulled it off, took a look at it, pressed the center plunger down and it actuates just fine, so I took it apart and everything looks ok, I cleaned it up, put it back together, put it back on and still no blow-off. I don't feel any leaks from it and I don't hear any leaks.

Any ideas before I drop $200 on a new BOV?

if the BOV is adjustable then the belt must have tightened the BOV peak pressure when it came off

try loosened that a little and see if there is any difference

Doh, I'm a moron x 2. Spankee was right. When the belt shredded and started having its tentacles fly around, it whacked the line from the air control valve vacuum tank to the air control valve solenoid.

Good thing I tore apart the BOV three times...

Thanks for the help gents.

No worries, Engineer. We've all been there. Last month, at PIR, it took a WRX guy to figure out that I was overboosting b/c the vac. line to the wastegate had come loose. I just assumed it was an EMS problem...

VERY funny, Engineer! S2000ITR, I'd highly recommend you get an amplifier for your BOV -- it only takes a simple electrical circuit, and you'll be assured that everyone within a quarter mile will hear that swooshing noise when the BOV opens up for you....
