Default Brake Bias

Is there some sort of adjustment for the brake bias?

I have found that my brake pads on the rear are wearing out alot faster than the front ones..
Is this normal? I've changed them at the same time...

Not stock there isn't.

One thing to consider is that the handbrake may be adjusted too tight.

No, does not sound normal. I found the rears to last 2x as long as the fronts ... which should be the case for most of the cars out there.

Dodgy pads on the back while good/reasonable pads at the front? If you put in pads that can't handle the 'abuse' then they disitegrate pretty quickly. What pads did you have in there, as well as at the front?

dont say that!

I put the OEM ones in, in about Oct / Nov and when I had the wheels put on, I had the rear caliper checked too, and was told I'd need to change the pads again soon since the rears were fuxxored.

Was contemplating upping to Bendix Ultimates.....

Don't worry ECS - nothing wrong with Bendix Ultimates for general road use. I've used them before with no probs.

I have a funny feeling that the previous owner may have pressed the piston in instead of turning it when installing new pads on the rear...

Could this seize the piston? is there a way to check?
