Brake fluid question

Default Brake fluid question

So here wht i got today, motul brake fluid with an expired date of 20/08/12
I never bought that type of fluid, getting ready for my first lapping ever would liket o know wht you guys think i should do with this.

I would not use it.

Unless you are tracking your car,off-the-shelf Valvoline or Prestone Dot4 is fine.

If it was stored in a dry place, I would not worry about it.

I agree with the above about tracking though.

Well this season will be my first year with the car on the track (lapping)
i read somewhere this would be a good upgrade since i already have hp+ pads and brake lines on the car

Maybe it is production date?
When did you buy it?
Does it actually say anywhere in the multylayer label "Exp date: see bottle top"?
Is/was there still a seal under the screwcap?
They look unopned.
I would use it, the fluid in the system now is much worse than what is in the bottles.
You do not need upgrades to have fun on a track day, you need track time.

For spirited drives on a track this will do fine.

Yes that is probably the production date and Motul products are guaranteed two years after their production date so should be good to go.
As long as they are still unopened.
