Porterfield R4-S or Carbotech Panther+ are good street pads. I like the Carbotech's myself but the Porterfields are good too. The carbotechs are better if the car is going to see any track time. Both will be fine for the street only.

The Porterfield R4S offers greater initial bite and mopre aggressive response to pedal pressure than the OEM pads. However, they are much dirtier than the OEM pads and sometimes squeal a bit. I prefer the OEM pads since they dust less, are quieter, modulate better and cost less. I've not used the P+ pads, but many people on this board report it has similar qualities to the R4S.

Agreed, the stock pads are good street pads, cheap and effective. I have been using R4S and like the feel but dislike the dust and occasional noise.

I often use P+ pads on the track but don't think they are great street pads.. they are too dirty, noisy, and the friction when dead cold is off a bit.

The Brakeman #3 pads are competition pads that will work on the street. Less dust and noise, but still a little lower on friction when cold.

Does anyone have any experience with Cobalt Friction GT-R(VR) pads? I just ordered a set for the front. According to the manufacturer, they are supposed to be longer lasting than Porterfield's R4, and be more fade resistant. They are not a street pad.

I bought Porterfield R4S's but have not yet installed them. They were highly touted by several members on the board

Hawk HP plus is sold as exactly that. Aggressive street (as in works cold) pad. They have noticeably higher grip than stock pads, and much better heat resistance. Tirerack web site has a good description..
