Default Brake Rotor Options

What rotors are avilable that are direct OEM replacements? The MG Racing ones are nice, but WAY outside my budget for brake rotors.

We carry Brembos, but I don't know what your budget is.

Brembo OE replacement rotors are very good. For longevity, we have been using cryogenically treated OEM Honda rotors for the S2000, but non-treated Brembo's will work just as well as a regular non-treated OEM Honda rotor. That is to say, the quality of both Brembo and OE Honda are comparable.

How much do you sell the Brembo OE replacements for, Mingster? I only have OE Honda's in stock, last I checked.

Endless makes slotted rotors for our cars... Dunno about prices though... I think Mingster can help you with that.

Richard, are the Brembos slotted or drilled?

I have been using the ART rotors which are cryo treated OEM pieces. He also slots them and cad plates them although I skip the slots.. and burn off the plating at the track. It is the cheapest way to get long lasting quality rotors, and they are pretty if you don't get them over 1000F (and Dean has worked a tight shipping schedule for me as well).

Why are the aftermarket rotors for our cars so expensive? For the Miata, quality aftermarket rotors are in the neighborhood of $150/pair. I realize ours are bigger and there's a smaller market, but does it really justify such large differences in price? Should the prices go down and availablity go up now that the RSX TypeS is out (which reportedly has at least interchangable, if not the same, braking system)?

We have had requests for a two piece racing rotor to fit stock caliper ( or Spoon) .
We will be offering a two piece racing rotor for the stock brake system . They will have curved directional vanes , they will be plated . they will come with our forged aluminum (nickel plated ) racing hat , and safety wired mounting hardware , with stainless steel bushings . All of the rotors that we sell are thermally treated , for racing applications . The rotors are being made in the US and are being made by a company that makes racing rotors . These rotors will cost about the same as our big brake rotors and hats . The advantage of two piece rotor is lighter weight , the forged aluminum hat reduces heat transfer to the hub, replaceable wear surface of cast iron rotor , directional curved vanes ( better cooling) and the racing rotors give better wear characteristics . This will not be the cheapest available , but you will get all the benefits of a racing system . These parts may only cost $100 more than an imitation part , but give you much better service .
