Swap to AP1 00-03 pads. Much less dust and quiet. I know of several AP2 owners that swap just so they don't have to clean the wheels as often.

Are there any disadvantages to swapping to AP1 pads?

The MY04 and up OEM pads may be a little more aggressive than the pre MY04 pads

Every AP2 has this. Get some wheel cleaner. It helps if you polish or wax your wheels with some kind of protectant, makes the dust come of a lot easier.

Lots of brake dust on the stock set up. I just swapped my stock brake pads for Hawk HPS pads and installed Power Slot Cryo Rotors. Seems to generate much less dust and very quiet. Stopping power seems much more agressive.

The AP2 pads are more aggressive than the AP1. I recall hearing they were Pagid Blacks. I have not heard good things about EBC pads, other than they spend a lot on marketing.

Look for an all ceramic pad from a long term manufacturer, Hawk, Pagid, etc. ceramics will give less dust and have a beter pedal feel as well as resist fade. Try the tire rack. www.tirerack.com for more info.
