i followed the breakin rules from honda and my engine only "sips" oil when i engage vtec, and this is pretty normal. i only have about 3800 miles on the beast now and the engine should start sealing up anywhere from 5000-10000 miles(hopefully).

Anyone else wonder why Ultimate Lurker ignores these threads? There have been about four threads about this EXACT article since I've been on here. Always the same arguments. No one has proven scientifically that he is wrong. IE, he presents more credible evidence over everyone else. The most common counter argument is that Honda recommends against what Motoman says, so it must be right.

So my question is, why has UL not once contributed to threads on this subject? Not wanting to rock the boat?

maybe he too busy or doesn't have the time? Try not to expect a reply from him to every technical thread, he's a busy guy, but always like to help when he can. I would say that the point in arguing break in procedures is as exaggerated as the color of Dennis Rodman's hair color.

UL usually posts on threads such as this, especially when there is obviously misinformation floating around. He almost always takes the time to explain a little. This is an issue I'm sure he's not said anything about for a reason.

UL is probably busy - he does have a life outside of our little circle, you know

I'm sure he'll chime in after a while.

Blake,

I'm not trying to pick an argument with you but I'm curious to know what you consider as "credible evidence" on Motoman's website? I see no data there that I personally would classify as "evidence."

I've gone over this in the other threads, I won't go over it again. Essentially, he backs up what he says with some sort of scientific reasoning, and I haven't heard anyone else say his reasoning is wrong and why.

mingster, this is the 3rd or 4th thread on this exact article. Not once has he chimed in...

blake, maybe this topic is too controversial - you know as much as we avoid this (especially old timers like us), politic is as usual when people are gathered

Mingster, I think he just likes reading this and see us argue, all the while knowing who's right and who's not...
