I've had this since day 1. There's peace of mind that I'm not the only one but damn sometimes it's really annoying.
Peace of mind? why not just stop doing this!

EXACTLY!

You all have complete control over this phenomenon. It is 100% preventable.

Almost all pre 06s will do this. You shouldn't be driving it at 1-2k rpm really anyway even in traffic...
Nonsense! There is nothing wrong with idling along, or running just over idle speeds in 1st gear. I do it all the time. Yes, I've had the bucking problems from time to time but for the most part, it's a non issue for me now that I've gotten used to the car. Xviper and Slalom44 both offer good advise on this one!

Finesse can be wonderful thing. Learn to use it!

i've had the same problem from day one, and I hate it b/c it makes me look like a retarded new driver to others when it bucks. However, when I sense it is going to happen in traffic, I just rev it up a little more than usual.

I THINK , it is a combo of both the touchy gas , and i would take the intake off put it back to stock and let us know , i am willing to bet that you don't do that again, try curling your toes back , and press the gas with the ball of your foot, i had a crx, with a super sensitive pedal , keep us posted.

Mine does this but it's only when I'm stuck in some stop and go traffic. I don't think the S likes it and it wants to jump the fence and run with the horses. My car is stock.

Make sure your throttle cable is properly adjusted... solved the bucking problem for me as mine was way out of spec.

Hmmm, that's something I wouldn't have thought of for this problem. Will have to look into this. Thanks!

Uh, I seriously doubt it's the throttle cable. I suspect your bucking problem is just hiding and you may think the cable fixed it because, after all, the bucking is quite intermitant.

The cable is supposed to have between 3/16" and 1/4" slack from top to bottom. It's not supposed to be slack free.
