Default bumpsteer kits

I'm trying to wrap my head around how this is s'posed to improve anything other than offer a greater range of camber and toe. See stock vs. kit below:

Is the installed location of the outer ball joint significantly moved up or down vs. stock?

Is the real benefit the ability to run greater negative camber while also keeping a decent amount of toe-in?

Just curious...

The spacers on the end of the GFL kit you show there are what cause the geometry change vs. stock. Lots of research went into that piece in the form of measurements to determine what the toe change was throughout the range of suspension motion and then how to compensate for it.

The ability to have greater control over camber and toe was just a bonus.

Thanks for the info, ludedude. Not having actual parts in front of me, I really couldn't tell if the outer ball joint was moved that much.

Are stock vs. kit camber curves out there somewhere?

You'll have to search the R&C forum for that. There was a lot of information published when that kit was first brought to market a few years back.

Someone used an off-road only RACE piece on a street car; since they built and sold two separate pieces, a RACE and a STREET kit, and the race kit was very clearly identified for use on race cars only that don't see street service, the person who bought that race kit to be cool paid for their mistake.
