Default A/C not constantly cold enough?

what's up guys,
I've been noticing that sometimes the A/C is not blowing cold-cold air.
Outside temp was around 90 and I could swear it felt like the car's turning off/on the AC compressor intermittently.
I might be imagining things, but I thought I actually felt the compressor turning off and kicking in when the air temp changed a little.
It's not annoying or anything, but just wondering if this is normal.
Did anyone else notice this?

thanks

Dan

Yea it does it to me too.... Blows ice ice ice cold then all of a sudden I get a blast of hot air. I noticed it a lot when I was in the desert a month back. Luckily I live in OC and its usually cool enough that I dont notice it.

yeah, the a/c is never consistent. it will sometimes get very cold, and other times it will be somewhat cold.

yup, this is normal. if you are in one spot and in the sun, it may blow out warm air. once you start moving again, ti will blow out cold air again

Makes me want to wire my a/c direct and change parts when they go bad! The heat in Miami is bad enough without my ecu making sure my a/c lines aren't frozen.

The PCM is smarter than the guy that wants to straight wire the AC.

The PCM will shut the compressor off if the coolant temp is too high, or there is not enough refrigerant pressure to safely operate the system.

The compressor cycles to keep the evaporator from freezing... If it freezes, you get no cold air at all.

Yea and the possibility of it freezing when it feels like 105 degrees outside is probably non existent. Not to mention that i said "makes me want to".. I'm totally going to rewire a new car..

You'd be surprised what the Evap temp actually is, It's a definite probability to freeze on a humid day.
