Default which cable reel (clock spring)?

Hello. I have a 2004 s2k that needs a new cable reel (clock spring) . I went to the majestic honda parts site. It gave me two part numbers 77900-S2A-A01 and 77900-S2A-A02 (furukawa). which one do I get?

The first one is made for your car, I'd go with that one. I don't know if the second one is a revised one, I would order the first one and if you get the second one instead it means it's a better replacement part.

i noticed that the 03 below its the first part and 05 up its the second part. For the 2004 it gives both. I still dont follow what you mean to order the first part but the second one is a better replacement part, I'm still at a loss in which to get. my fear is that if I get either it may not work. worried about returns on electrical items

Honda makes a part, and then that part gets updated, either it works better, or it's cheaper, but it's guaranteed to work at least as well as the previous part number. This is just a general rule of thumb however. I would get the part that is made for your car. If you order S01 and you get S02 it means S01 was discontinued and S02 should work. Again this is the general rule of thumb, for example for the rear upper control arms were changed from ap1 to ap2 so if you get bushings for URCA and you have an ap1 they'll send you ap2 bushings and it won't work. The front UCA bushings work across all years. That's just one example. But we're talking about a clock spring, seeing as how the only real SRS changes came 06 and up and the S02 is for 05 and up I'd just go with S01. I'd also call or e-mail the parts distributor to make sure the S01 isn't discontinued.
